High reverse working voltage (withstand voltage): This is the most important feature. The withstand voltage of a single silicon diode is limited (typically from tens to thousands of volts). By connecting multiple diode cores in series, the total withstand voltage equals the sum of the withstand voltages of individual diode cores. Therefore, the reverse working voltage of a high-voltage silicon stack can reach thousands of volts, tens of thousands of volts, or even hundreds of thousands of volts or more.

 

Unidirectional conductivity (rectification): Like a regular diode, it only allows current to flow from the anode (positive terminal) to the cathode (negative terminal), achieving rectification.

 

Larger average current: Capable of withstanding a large average forward working current.

 

Compact package: The series structure is packaged into a single unit, facilitating installation and use, and improving reliability (avoiding the hassle and potential problems of users connecting series themselves).
